Our vision
We believe that AI could transform the world in ways that humanity is not prepared for. Therefore, we consider that ensuring the safe development and use of AI is a critical priority. At the same time, we know that human talent in Argentina is exceptional, and that many students and researchers have innovative ideas and talent to advance the AI Safety field.
Therefore, the main objective of the AISAR scholarships is to accelerate AI Safety research in Argentina. We focus on three pillars:
Adoption of AI Safety Research Lines
Encourage the adoption of AI Safety research lines by existing academic researchers, both in early stages and experienced ones.
Talent Development
Incubate and stimulate promising students, encouraging professional development in AI Safety research.
Global Collaboration
Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between Argentine researchers and the global AI Safety community.
In this first iteration, the program will be hosted at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), supervised by the Research Office of the UBA-CONICET Institute of Computer Science (ICC).
